SMS Sending
I would like to see an SMS module created. With the increasing demand for mobile phones this would be the perfect module for ActiveCampaign 12All. Of course I recommend naming it ActiveSMS.
When this module for installed and enable on a list it will automatically insert a mobile phone fields or ask to map to an existing field for the mobile phone. Subscribe can be asked to update their profile with their mobile number to receive future SMS notifications.
In the settings for ActiveSMS we can configure our SMS provider; BulkSMS, Clickatell, etc.
When composing a new campaign the text editor is only available and can only type a message within the limits of standard SMS (160 characters). SMS notifications will only be sent to subscribers with a phone number in the mobile field.
ActiveSMS should have all of the users permission settings similar to email campaigns; how many SMS can be sent per hour, per day, per week, per month, etc.
or credit per user. When there not enough credits to sent to the entire list will prompt them to purchase more credits and display a specified URL to purchase additional credits.
Hope you guys will consider developing this module.

We already have external module if you will that we are using for one of our 12all distributions.
The process is fairly simple. You basically need number discovery via a HLR lookup provider. Google it, you will find dozens of providers.
We simply added a little magic into our forms integration that allows two accounts to be created for our subscribers. One for email, one for SMS if they choose to use it. If they add SMS we conduct network discovery via HTTP API and Web SMS interface to discover their home network and simple auto insert the address extension binding it to their phone number. If the HRL fails, we ask them what network they're on on a select list.
The downside is there are two accounts for each subscriber but at the end of the day who cares right? So far it is working REALLY well for us, we have a few homeowner associations who want to send SMS campaigns alongside their email campaigns.
Naturally I would like to see 12all inherently create this into 12all but last time I checked they did not have any immediate future plans to do so which is why we wrote our own.

Yes, mobile is getting bigger every day and I am already using SMS (and voice) much like ActiveCampaign uses email. This IS the future and what I am focusing on at the moment. I am a new customer (bought yesterday) and I chose you guys because of the extensive integration options you have with API,JSON, etc. I knew I could create whatever I needed to in terms of integration but I would highly recommend you taking a loot at twilio.com.
They have an open source implementation called OpenVBX that you could use to help you get up and running sooner than later.
This is very powerful stuff and what we all need to be doing now. I think if you implement these features you will make your competitors irrelevant :)

http://www.mymobileapi.com/web-services.aspx also provides the API features to integrate with any code. Just a pitty my coding skills arn't up to it ! -

You should also consider a way to assure (via an "agree" button) that the user fully understands that certain charges may apply (according to his plan)....

I agree as well with this comentary and here is my suggestion: In my oppinion would be very easy to integrate with the NOWSMS Gateway via PHP script.
Tip: You can send SMS by 12-all using a SMTP via NOWSMS.
